Mingo Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PGMotive collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes information when you use Mingo, a mobile dating app.
1. Who we are
Mingo is a mobile dating app operated by PGMotive. In this policy, "Mingo," "we," "us," and "our" refer to PGMotive as operator of the Mingo service.
2. Information we collect
The information Mingo collects depends on how you use the app and which permissions you grant.
- Account information: email address, password authentication data handled by Supabase Auth, account type, verification status, user ID, login/session metadata, password reset and email verification events.
- Age and eligibility information: birth date and age-related confirmation used to enforce Mingo's minimum age requirement.
- Dating profile information: display name, gender, orientation, relationship goals, interests, languages, bio, height, profile completion state, discovery visibility, incognito settings, and other profile preferences you choose to provide.
- Location information: city, region, country, latitude, longitude, location update time, travel-mode location fields, and distance preferences. Mingo uses foreground location only when you allow it.
- Photos and media: profile photos, image metadata such as width, height, file size, blurhash, moderation copy, moderation result, and photo hash. If you send media in chat, Mingo may store media paths and thumbnails.
- Communications: messages, voice messages, image messages, replies, delivery/read status, timestamps, match conversation state, and message deletion state.
- Dating activity: swipes, likes, super likes, matches, unmatched state, last message time, blocked users, reports, report reasons, and safety actions.
- Device and notification data: device token, platform, app version, device model, locale, timezone, notification permission state, and token activity status.
- Security, abuse-prevention, and rate-limit data: action counters, cooldowns, profile edit limits, photo edit limits, block churn limits, auth send guards, audit records, moderation actions, and administrative review notes.
- Rewards and feature state: feature flags, daily mission state, reward events, entitlements, boost/super-like/rewind/travel/incognito credits or expiration times, and related timestamps. The current v1 codebase disables advertising and in-app purchase surfaces unless those features are reintroduced later.
- Support and deletion requests: messages you send to support, hashed email records for external account deletion requests, token status, request timestamps, and minimal audit data needed to process deletion securely.
3. Device permissions
- Camera: used to take profile photos.
- Photos or media library: used to upload profile photos.
- Microphone: used to record and send voice messages.
- Location while using the app: used for nearby discovery, city/region display, travel-related location settings, and distance preferences.
- Notifications: used to send match, message, account, moderation, or safety notifications.
You can manage these permissions through your device settings. Some app features may not work as intended if a permission is disabled.
4. How we use information
- To create, authenticate, verify, recover, secure, and manage Mingo accounts.
- To enforce age eligibility and protect minors from using the service.
- To display profiles, power discovery, apply distance and preference filters, and operate matching.
- To enable messaging, media sharing, read receipts, match lists, conversation controls, and deletion controls.
- To send push notifications and account-related emails.
- To moderate profile photos, review reports, detect policy violations, prevent spam, investigate fraud or abuse, and support user safety.
- To operate rewards, daily missions, app feature flags, and account entitlements when enabled.
- To debug, maintain, secure, and improve Mingo and its backend systems.
- To comply with law, legal process, platform policies, and enforceable requests from authorities.
5. What other users can see
Mingo is a dating app, so some information is intentionally visible to other users. Depending on your settings and app state, other users may see your display name, age or age-related presentation, profile photos that pass moderation, bio, gender, orientation, languages, interests, relationship goals, general location such as city or region, distance-related information, and messages you send to matches.
Do not include sensitive personal information in your profile or messages unless you are comfortable sharing it with the intended audience.
6. Photo moderation and automated review
Mingo may create a smaller private moderation copy of profile photos and use automated tools, including Google Gemini, to help detect explicit nudity, sexual content, violence, drug-related content, likely minors, missing human face, or ambiguous cases that need manual review. Moderators may review photos, reports, and related account information when necessary for safety and policy enforcement.
7. How we share information
- With other Mingo users: profile, discovery, match, and message information is shared as needed to provide the dating service.
- With service providers: we use providers such as Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and Edge Functions; Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications; Google Gemini for photo moderation when enabled; and an email provider such as Resend for account and deletion emails.
- For safety and legal reasons: we may share information if necessary to investigate abuse, respond to lawful requests, protect users, enforce our terms, or prevent fraud or security incidents.
- Business changes: if PGMotive is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information. The current v1 Mingo codebase does not include advertising identifiers or active advertising SDK surfaces.
8. Account deletion
You can delete your Mingo account and associated data from inside the app or through the external deletion page at https://pgmotive.com/mingo/delete-account. The external page is public and does not require you to install or open Mingo.
For external deletion, Mingo asks for the email linked to your account and sends a secure confirmation link if the email is associated with a Mingo account. For privacy, the page does not reveal whether an email exists in Mingo. The confirmation token is time-limited, single-use, and invalidated after completion.
Confirmed deletion removes or anonymizes your account access, email-linked profile data, profile photos, device tokens, preferences, discovery settings, rewards or entitlement state, and personal records linked to your Mingo user ID where deletion is permitted. Chat media sent by you is removed where technically available.
9. Retention after deletion
Account deletion is typically completed immediately after confirmation, but some records may remain for limited periods where necessary for legal, security, fraud prevention, moderation, dispute resolution, backup, or compliance reasons.
| Data category | Deletion or retention approach |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | Email, authentication access, profile fields, location, photos, preferences, and device tokens are removed or anonymized after confirmed deletion. |
| Messages and matches | Messages you sent may be replaced with a deleted-account notice or retained in limited form for the other participant, safety review, open reports, or abuse prevention. |
| Reports, blocks, moderation, and safety records | May be retained as needed to investigate abuse, protect users, prevent repeat violations, comply with law, or maintain service integrity. |
| Deletion requests | External deletion requests store minimal audit data such as hashed email, hashed IP, token status, and timestamps rather than the plain email. |
| Backups and logs | May persist for a limited period and are deleted or overwritten according to operational backup and security schedules. |
10. Security
Mingo uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including Supabase Row Level Security, server-side service keys, rate limits, secure account deletion tokens, restricted storage buckets, and administrative access controls. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. International processing
PGMotive and its service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for transfers of personal information.
12. Your choices and rights
- You can update or remove much of your profile information in Mingo.
- You can manage location, camera, photo, microphone, and notification permissions through your device settings.
- You can block or report users from within the app.
- You can delete your account from inside the app or through the external deletion page.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding your personal information.
To exercise privacy rights, contact support@pgmotive.com.
13. Age eligibility and minors
Mingo is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old and otherwise legally permitted to use a dating app. Users under 18 may not create an account or use Mingo. If we learn that a minor has used Mingo, we may delete the account and related data, subject to safety, legal, and compliance retention needs.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Mingo changes or as legal, platform, or operational requirements evolve. Each published version will identify its effective date, last updated date, and version number on this page.
If a change materially affects how we collect, use, share, retain, or protect personal information, we will provide notice through Mingo, by email, or through another reasonable method before the change takes effect when required. We will request consent when applicable law requires it.
